How are wine tours planned?
What is the policy on refunds?

We combine your personal experiences and preferences with our knowledge and experience to plan an exciting wine tour event.
CANCELLATION & REFUNDS: There are absolutely no refunds awarded under any conditions. ALL tour purchases and sponsorships are final. In the event of inclement weather, the tour will typically still be held as scheduled. However, if the tour is canceled for any reason (including weather), all payments will be credited toward a future event (which will be honored for up to two years).

How many wineries are there to choose from?

There are more than 100 wineries, distilleries, and breweries in the Hill Country.
The Hill Country extends beyond Fredericksburg along Highway 290 all the way to Austin, New Braunfels, and surrounding areas. Communities such as Mason, Blanco, Kerrville, Comfort, Helotes, and more each have excellent places to visit.

What is the normal stay at each winery?

The average stay of a wine tasting at each winery is approximately one hour.
Our experience indicates that at any given location, about 25% stay about an hour; about 65% stay about 1 1/2 hours, and 10% stay about 2 hours.

What are the food provisions along the
290 Wine Trail?


OPTIONAL SANDWICHES:

Most wineries, distilleries, and breweries offer food menus that may include charcuteries, sandwiches, and/or meals.
Some wineries have food trucks - limited to weekends.

At a cost of $17 per person, the tour driver will supply Firehouse sandwiches. Your choice of beef, ham, or turkey. Sorry, no special menues.

What about public intoxication?
Is it unlawful?

What about drinking in the shuttle?

As long as you don't create a disturbance or become unruly, you'll be fine. However, the wineries discourage anyone from drinking too much.

Under Texas law, any guest in a hired transport can drink alcoholic beverages. Our drivers ask guests to be responsible not to over indulge or make a mess.

How many people will you shuttle to the wineries?

Hill Country Express can transport one to fourteen (1-14) people.

On our custom wine tour, can we go anywhere?

Yes! Hill Country Express is pleased to shuttle you to any of the many wineries, restaurants, and shopping venues in the Fredericksburg are and along the Highway 290 Wine Trail.

Can you give an example of an extreme
wine tour?
The point of origin was in Canyon Lake area. The tour visited several winieries, distilleries, and breweries. From there the tour went to Austin to a night club. Finally, the guests were returned to the Canyon Lake point of origin.

What kind of entertainment is available at wineries? A number of wineries offer live entertainment such as DJs and bands. Some locations offer a dance floor.

Can the point of origin be away from the Fredericksburg area?

Hill Country Express is willing to pickup guests as far away as Austin and San Antonio. The pickup point can be multiple houses or a commercial parking lot like Walmart.
